For more than a century, a cooperative of local farmers and ranchers has stood up for the land, the water, and the people who work it.
The Butte County Farm Bureau is a non-profit organization of farmers and ranchers, more than thirteen hundred members strong, and part of the California Farm Bureau Federation's forty thousand members statewide. Both county and state members are automatically enrolled in the American Farm Bureau Federation, which counts over six million members across all fifty states and Puerto Rico.
Our work does not stop at the farm gate. We engage with elected officials, media, government agencies, educators, and consumers to analyze and solve the issues, social and economic alike, facing the agriculture industry. From water policy to the next generation of growers, we carry the county's voice from the field to the capitol.
This certifies that the bearer is a member in good standing, and is entitled to the following:
Water. Land use. Labor. Regulation. The decisions made in county chambers and in the state capitol shape every acre in Butte County, and they are rarely made by the people who work the land. That is the gap the Farm Bureau exists to close.
Because we are part of the California and American Farm Bureau, a membership that begins in Butte County carries all the way to Sacramento and Washington. It is a rare thing: a local voice with national reach, and it grows louder with every member who joins.
